As Minister of Residential & Day Schools, I am deeply honoured to represent us, the survivors, in the MMF Cabinet. The creation of our Residential & Day School department enables a space dedicated to fostering connection, support, and the revival of our familial bonds and reconnection to our roots through our various support programs.
Here, in our shared experiences, we find a sanctuary to share our stories and embark on a journey of healing from the injustices and traumas of our childhoods. Our commitment remains firm in bringing our children's spirits home, as evidenced by our ongoing research initiative, "pekeywaytahihnan nutr zanfaan leur zisprii".
As survivors, our strength lies in our solidarity and our resilience. Together, we forge a path forward, ensuring our voices are heard and our stories resonate for generations to come. Let us be remembered not only as survivors but as the courageous advocates who fought for justice and who, through our stories, protected the future of our Red River Métis Heritage from the previous mistakes of governmental assimilation.
Together, we brighten the path towards reconnecting with our culture and family, healing, seeking justice, ensuring that the spirit of our children finds peace, and that our cultural legacy remains vibrant and unbroken.

As Minister for Sixties Scoop, my greatest honour is to serve as your representative on the Manitoba Métis Federation Cabinet. With the establishment of the Sixties Scoop Department, your government is now able to offer programs and services designed to meet your unique healing needs.
As we continue to fight for justice, we must never forget who we are as a people and work collectively to address the harms of the past on the path towards reconciliation.
It is by our actions today that future generations of our people will see and know how resilient and loving our people are as we welcome home those that have been lost. May we come together as a nation and welcome those that have been taken away with open hearts and minds- never to be taken away again.
